Savvy Shopping Tips For Money Cautious People

As a student, I know that everything can seem a bit too expensive. We must save money for transport, student amenities, and textbooks. So that barely leaves any money to pamper ourselves. So here are 3 easy tips on shopping smart and saving your mula.

1. Shop during sales. Now, I didn’t know until maybe late December last year that stores don’t┬ájust hold sales on public holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I know the biggest days that sales are on, like Easter, Boxing Day etc. But I didn’t know that there is the end of the year and mid-year sales. I usually shop on Boxing Day, Easter and any other sales I come by accidentally.

End of year sales as the name suggest happens at the end of the year and this is when shops will be getting rid of older and what they assume is out of season items, this is the same for mid-year sales as well.

For people (me) who don’t follow trends, this tip is great, for people who do follow trends proceed to the next tip.

2: Shop online: yep you heard right. Now I know shopping online is not convenient for most people what with shipping fees, not being able to try it out and the worry of when it’ll get to you.

It’s like going on a blind date, but not knowing when the other person to call. Online shopping may give you mini hearts attacks since you might not get what you’ve ordered and daily anxiety it does have its benefits. Online stores have more sales and discounts for students. Besides shopping online is usually way cheaper than buying the product in the store( depending on what you buy).

3: Get Discounts or Coupons:

Because Universities understand how broke students can get, they usually have discounts in place to help out. Uni students can get student discounts for most websites such as Missguided, Pretty Little Things and the like. Most online stores try to cater for students.

There is an app called ‘UniDays‘ which is specifically designed to give Uni students discounts of shopping sites. Also with a student ID, students can also get discounts on movie tickets taking about two-to-three dollars off the normal price but it’s not bad(so take advantage people).
