5 Must Read Books for Young Adults

Ahh reading one of my favorite past times. I enjoy grabbing a good book and a snack. You won’t even notice the time flying by. Back in high school, I was quite the bookworm, I enjoyed reading very much. When I wasn’t busy with school work and the rollercoaster that is life I would just kill time by reading a good. Amongst the number of books I read, I would like to share 5 of my most enjoyed books.

1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

If you’re into vampires and teen romance, you would enjoy this book. With 5 books in the series, you’ll be hooked with every turn of the page. This series was an emotional rollercoaster…at least to me anyway. This book is funny, sad and exciting, I was soo invested in the characters, I kind of became a teensy-bit obsessed … overall it’s a great read. There is also a movie based on this book. However, I have to side with the cliche’ that the books are usually much better than the movie. In this case, it’s true.

2. Gone by Michael Grant

This one for the geeks (ahem..myself included). This book had so many scientific mysteries I felt like I was learning something and not just reading for fun but it was an interesting read. The day everyone aged 15 and over mysteriously disappears in the small town of Perdido Beach chaos falls. Trapped in a mysterious dome these adult-less, lawless and supernaturally gifted kids fight their way to survive as a series of unnatural events take place. The science- fiction, horror and supernatural type books.

3. Fallen by Lauren Kate

This book is just so cute, you’ll also enjoy reading every moment of this book. This book encompasses a lot of different themes that really gets the reader thinking about life. Although it’s fictional, this book is profound, you a will also fall in love with the characters. There is also a movie on this book, that I watched recently. Though it wasn’t bad, I stand by the book.

4. Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This book is also another great choice. It’s got aliens. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book about aliens… vampires, witches, wolves yes, but never aliens. But surprisingly it turned out to be awesome.

5. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Here’s another one, again with supernatural abilities and fallen angels yay!!!. This book follows the main protagonist, Nora Grey who is a ‘normal teenager’ until she meets Patch, a fallen angel whose sole purpose was to kill her and possess her body. Haha yep, it’s like a modern-day Romeo + Juliet but with twists. I really enjoyed this book.

As you can probably guess by the selection of books I was really into supernatural fiction books in high school and I still am to this day. Not saying I didn’t read normal fiction books, I did… I just like these more. But here are 5 books to read.

This is a useful list though I prefer more of classic writers. May be I could suggest something from this to my brother. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I just came from Barnes and nobles. And ask for the same genre and they pulled out some of these books. I will have to look into some of these and see if I want to read them
